Manaaki Tangata

Manaaki Tangata is a one-day wānanga that presents a Māori model of practice, highlighting fundamental aspects important for Maori wellness and interactions.

What will be covered?

  • It covers knowledge and skills from a Te Ao Māori framework, to have an understanding around working with Māori whānanu and utilising early intervention strategies (to prevent crises such as self-harm and suicide) through practices that promote oranga (wellbeing) for whānau.
  • There is no cost to attend however, you will need to complete the Tangata Ihi introductory course first, to prepare you for the wānanga.
  • A basic level of Te Reo Māori is recommended.
